Our Mission

AHRO is a small capacity rescue, meaning we only have between 30-40 rescues at a time. However, small capacity also means that we do not have a large amount of staff, volunteers, or funding. But, we do not let that stop us from having big dreams for each and every dog that comes through our doors. Our main goal is for each of them to go to good homes with families that will give them the love that they all deserve. Getting them to those homes is not always easy and it requires a lot of work.

As humans, we experience struggles everyday, living through hard times, trauma, loss, and many other difficulties. We are not alone in those struggles, dogs also experience these things. A lot of our rescues have come from situations such as, abuse, neglect, abandonment, starvation, loss of loved ones, and some many other situations that have had a major impact on their lives. But, also like humans, they can heal from those bad times, they just have to be given the chance to do so. Some of our rescues are happy and ready to become an instant part of your family, while others need patience and understanding. We hope to find the perfect home for each one of these dogs with families that will give them the patience and understanding they need.

More often than we would like, the dogs we rescue are not in good health. Sometimes they need things like emergency medical care and treatment for illness. Along with that, they also need vaccinations and spay/neuters. They also require things such as food, bedding, kennels, and many other necessities. Another goal of ours is to reach as many people as we can to help with the substantial amount of funding it takes to provide them with the care they need.

Overall, our mission at Alma Husky Rescue and Outreach is to see that every dog we save finds their way to a better life.
